Excursion Information

Agia Eirini Gorge is the little sister of the Samaria Gorge but is sometimes considered to be even more beautiful. It tends to be quieter than Samaria, and at 7.5km it is under half its length. Open all year round and with shorter descents, it takes less exertion but doesn’t offer any less beauty. As its name suggests, the walk through the gorge starts by the village of Agia Eirini and ends at Sougia.

It usually takes around 4 hours to complete the walk, and during that time you’ll be in the midst of a deep forested valley that’s deliciously cool in the height of summer.
